Who Can You Add as Dependents?
Family Guard has a narrower dependent structure than the older landing-page copy.
Spouse
Required Documents:
- Marriage certificate
- Spouse's Ethiopian ID or Passport
- Recent passport-size photo
Children
Required Documents:
- Birth certificate
- Passport-size photo
- School ID (if over 5 years)
- Family Guard allows up to 2 dependent children under 18
Parents
Required Documents:
- The reviewed Family Guard design does not include parents
- Consider a separate policy if parental cover is needed
Siblings
Required Documents:
- The reviewed Family Guard design does not include siblings
- Consider a separate policy if sibling cover is needed

Can I add dependents after enrollment?
Yes! You can add dependents at any time. Their coverage starts immediately after payment and document verification.
Do children get the same coverage as me?
Covered lives share the Family Guard benefit structure, which focuses on funeral assistance, family protection income, and school fee support.
What happens when my child turns 26?
At age 26, your child can transition to their own individual policy. We'll notify you 60 days in advance with transition options.
Can I remove a dependent?
Yes, you can remove dependents at any time due to divorce, child reaching age limit, or other reasons. Partial premium refunds may apply.
Do I need to add my newborn immediately?
Newborns are automatically covered for 30 days. Add them officially within this period to maintain continuous coverage.
